Le Murge is an important geological feature of the Apuglia region. A portion of it can be seen behind the structure. It is currently incorporated into the Parco Nazionale dell'Alta Murgia (National Park of the Alta Murge). SP 230 is the primary road connecting Gravina in Puglia and Spinazzola. Many abandoned structures and farmsteads dot this particular roadway.
