(a walk or stroll) is an important part of life in southern Italy, especially in Gravina. At the end of the day, it seems as though the entire city comes out to stroll along the medieval streets. It is a time for people to unwind after work, catch up with friends and family, and enjoy the warm summer nights. Via Coronato was one of my favorite streets, and I walk down it every night on the way to dinner at Zia Rossa's. I made this image the night before I left Gravina in 2008.
Photographed using a Graflex Crown Graphic 4x5 camera and Kodak Ektar 127mm f/4.5 lens. Image printed on Kentmere fiber-based paper. Accolades:
